This site is our product doing its job. So this page is not boilerplate: it says what we claim, how we tested, what we found, and what is still broken.

What we aim for
In plain words
We aim for every page to meet the WCAG 2.2 AA standard, and for key pages to also exist in sign language. We test with real people who are Deaf and blind, and we publish what they find.
- WCAG 2.2 Level AA on every page — the target, measured before launch.
- Sign language (WCAG 1.2.6, a AAA criterion) adopted as policy for key pages: home, platform, community, why sign language, impact, every country page, contact, and this statement. The header's Sign language button reveals each page's signed version.
- Screen-reader excellence: landmarks on every page, one heading per level, a skip link first, visible focus everywhere, no keyboard traps, forms with linked errors, correct language tags per section.
- Performance as accessibility: under 100 KB of script per page, no third-party requests until you ask for a video, static pages that load on a cheap phone over a thin connection.

Known issues, honestly
- Sign language videos are not here yet. Every slot shows a labelled placeholder until a named Deaf creator has recorded it. A signed site is the launch gate, not a nice-to-have.
- The two demo videos carry auto-generated captions. Human captions, transcripts and signed versions are pending. They stay labelled as such until fixed.
- The Listen button uses your device's built-in voices. You can choose which one, and how fast it reads, in the Display menu — your choice is remembered on your device. We filter out the joke voices some systems ship with, because left to itself a browser will happily read a page in one of them. This is still a stopgap: the planned reader will use recorded human audio where it matters, and will be tested with blind and low-vision users and with people who do not read.
- Local-language summaries on country pages await review by native speakers.
- Text in a language your device has no voice for is read with an English voice. The reader says the words rather than staying silent, but the pronunciation will be wrong. A recorded human version is the real fix.
- No screen-reader test results yet. They will be listed above, by page, before launch.

How the site is built
- Typefaces chosen for readers who struggle: Atkinson Hyperlegible (Braille Institute) for body text and Lexend for headings. Both self-hosted; nothing is fetched from a third party.
- Three themes at the token level — light, dark and high-contrast — plus three text sizes, saved on your device only.
- Every statistic on the site renders from one claims file and carries a visible source. Unverified claims do not publish.
- No cookies, no analytics, no trackers in this draft.
